Hymenoplasty is a surgical procedure performed to reconstruct or repair the hymen.<\/p>

The hymen is a very thin tissue located at the entrance of the vagina that tears during the first intercourse. Hymenoplasty is a procedure requested from the physician by the patient as a cultural, religious or sexual fantasy.<\/p>

The procedure can be performed under local anesthesia in office conditions, in two different ways as permanent hymen repair and temporary hymen repair, depending on the patient’s request. Temporary hymen repair is performed 3-4 days before intercourse, while permanent hymen repair is performed more than 2 months before intercourse.<\/p>

Permanent procedures are generally preferred by patients who do not have plans for intercourse in the near future or whose intercourse date is distant.<\/p>

Before the surgery, the patient is discussed with the patient about the issues they need to pay attention to, the necessary information is provided, and possible risks are explained. In the procedure, the integrity of the hymen is restored and an attempt is made to provide anatomical integrity that may bleed after intercourse.<\/p>

After the procedure, the patient is discharged after resting for 2-3 hours. During the healing process, the patient is told in detail what to do and what not to do, prescription suggestions and hygiene recommendations. The success of the hymen repair should be checked with checks.
