There are natural and modern methods of protection. Modern protection methods can be grouped as condoms, birth control pills, mini pills, morning-after pills, monthly injections, 3-month injections, subcutaneous implants, vaginal ring, intrauterine device, hormonal IUD, surgical ligation of tubes or surgical ligation of sperm ducts.

The success rates of each protection method, possible effects, side effects and possible changes in the body should be shared with the patient.
