Urinary incontinence is a problem that impairs the quality of life in women and limits women in terms of social and hygiene. While 30% of women in their 30s have urinary incontinence, the rate increases to 50% in their 50s. There are generally 3 types of urinary incontinence in women:
  1. When we say stress incontinence, it is the situation of leaking urine while coughing, sneezing, laughing or lifting heavy objects. The treatment of this type of urinary incontinence can be done with surgery or laser.
  2. Type urinary incontinence is urinary incontinence due to overactive bladder. The patient frequently goes to the toilet with a sudden urge to urinate and leaks urine before reaching the toilet. The most difficult type of urinary incontinence to treat is patients with overactive bladder.
Drug therapy is mostly used in the treatment of these types of patients. Although drug treatments provide temporary relief, the patient may return to their previous state when they stop taking the medication. Another limitation of this treatment is the side effects of the drugs used.
  1. Mixed type urinary incontinence. In these patients, there is both urinary incontinence when sneezing, coughing or laughing, and incontinence with a sudden urge to urinate. In these patients, medical treatment should be added in addition to surgical or laser treatment.
